Would the esteemed Senator from TexASS, please STFU!?!?!?!

Jackass hypocrite Texass Senator J G WENTWORTH (actually, its “Rep” senator Jeff Wentworth) wants to remove the Texas Schools from the BCS\NCAA because he thinks the system just ain’t right?!!??….or, “FAIR”, as its set up now!….Really Senator?….Kinda like how YOUR Health Care coverage isn’t quite what us “general folk” guys “care” is? Oh, but you’re a Senator, who FAIRLY votes for their own raises?, and who take kick-backs, and cash money form lobbyists and\or special interest groups, and –…wait, WHY ARE SENATORS COMPLAINING AGAIN?!?!?! Is this THE biggest piece of crap EVER? Some one slap this idiot with a taste of common sense, one time.

Didn’t the TEXAS Longsteers, the centerpiece institution in Mr Went(crazy)worth’s “threat” to the NCAA, JUST sign a “sweet-heart” deal to get enticed back into the BIG12(-2)???..And due entirely on an incredibly slanted-their-way-sweet deal by the “saving-his-own-ass” Commish?….Weren’t they seeking out a better “play” for themselves by hanging out their carrot to the BIG10\11 AND the PAC10 in hopes of being whored into those conferences for more money?….As it was agreed on, with Big 12 Commish Dan Beebe  (seen there grinning his ass off because now he has a job again!), Texas will get the lion’s share of the “B12″ TV money, and the “sue” money they expect to get from Nebraska and Colorado for bolting out early??? This just keeps getting better,…This F*CK is hUFfing paint thinner! How else can he go on record like he has? He’s part of a notoriously sleazy and money grubbing “profession”, and he’s calling out those who run the BCS\NCAA?!?!?!….-yes, another potentially sleazy group of people…..Yet this “effort” is some how building steam and support, even though we ALL know it stinks like a White Castle burger -the morning after!?!?!?! yeah!

Last year, it was douchebag-hypocrite Orrin Hatch, from Utah bitching like a contestant dropped from American Idol, about how HE thinks shit is “unfair”??. Yeah, another greaseball complaining to improve his re-election chances (or other political aspirations!)  Here’s a nittany lion response to Mr Hatch….NO one was pizzing or moaning when these LARGE institutions: (UFlorida, PeniStateU, LoSerU, OSU, USC, Tenn, ‘Bammer, and yes Texass were investing heavy millions on infrastructure (80-90 mil) and building up the Sport, while the little schools were spending about 20-30 mil to the get to the same end? UFlorida spends 90 mil, and Utah 20 million, but they should get equal shares?..right?…..So, my neighbor buys 100 million in GOOGLE stock, and I bought 100 dollars worth, but he and I are owed the same split???…Yeah, I’m sure that’s how both Hatch and Mr Wentworth roll!

Bottom line, Texas likes this shit set up just like it is, dont kid yourself!…..They might actually have Wentworth shut up, or down, if he keeps rattling their bank accounts. Utah ALSO liked things the way they were,….until they wanted more! And now, they’ve become what they hated! Hey, we ALL “want” more!…but in this case, you’re already getting more! Utah just wanted to make unUFf noise to get invited to the Party!…Well Done Orrin Hatch, they are now a part of what you want to break-up! Yeah, right….something tells me Orrin Hatch will go back to becoming “quiet” Sen Orrin Hatch REAL soon! (hypocrite!)

Mr Wentworth: While you’re at it, let’s also ask that some of the “BLAME” for this situation be placed ON those large State programs. Yeah, for helping create this “problem” by strangling out other smaller schools in the righteous effort to controll the talent pools. With the money and size of Texas, does Houston, Texas-El Paso, Baylor or North Texas REALLY get a “level” playing field from which to start? Doesn’t the big fish (Texas itself) squash out the little teams’ ability to compete by using up the lion’s share of the resources? Coaches, facilities, marketing ability and payoffs; to ensure THEY are the team getting the best shot at your “16 team” field of contenders? Certainly you’re not suggesting this politicking is for the benefit of Utah State, or San Diego State even, by offering an even playing field across the 119 team Div one surface, right? NO! Your move here is to attach your legacy to the hope of an eventual move by the NCAA to a “Playoff system” of some kind. This is just a self-fulfilling move on your part, and nothing more!

I think the NCAA has a system that is right in line with what Texas has in mind, despite their exclusion from the 2008 National Title game. (Which by the way, was based on an agreement they signed WITH the benefit of legal counsel -referring to the “tie” breaker clause in the BIG12 bylaws signed by ALL 12 schools before the 2008 season started). Texas has used their size, investment monies and position within the State to build up what would only qualify as a Monopoly,…yet you seek more for them!?!?!

FAIR!:…this is about fairness in Sport, right?…fairness like they have in the union-strangled game of Baseball, perhaps?…In a game where the Yankees spend 210 million on players, while teams on the other end can only pay 50-60 million? That kind of “fair”? OH, yeah, Fair like a Senator thinks, not the rest of us!…..Or perhaps its fair, you’re after, like in the NFL!?!?! Where your IN-State KINGpin in Dallas gets a Billion dollar stadium, and other sweet-heart deals to afford a financial advantage over teams in other cities….Fair like that? Yeah, Fairness in Sports is what Senators should be assigning themselves to these days. Thanks for your concern!,….jackass!

2009 — Position — 2010
Avery Barnes — LF — Tyler Thompson
Matt den Dekker — CF — Matt den Dekker
Riley Cooper — RF — Daniel Pigott
Brandon McArthur — 1B — Preston Tucker
Clayton Pisani — 2B — Josh Adams
Mike Mooney — SS — Nolan Fontana
Josh Adams — 3B — Bryson Smith
Buddy Munroe — C — Mike Zunino
Preston Tucker — DH — Austin Maddox

Rounding the bases Friday night, Austin Maddox wasn’t sure if he was going to wake up before he reached home plate.

Moments earlier, Florida’s freshman designated hitter had just belted the second collegiate pitch of his career over the right-center field wall for a two-run home run to give the Gators (1-0) a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

His trance ended after he touched home and realized what happened.

“First (at-bat). That doesn’t happen to many people, but it felt really good,” Maddox said.

It felt pretty good for the Gators all night in their season opener against South Florida at McKethan Stadium. Along with Maddox’s debut, junior infielder Josh Adams showed off some power by clearing the left field bleachers twice as the Gators defeated USF 6-2 in front of a crowd of 3,309.

While Maddox felt like his at-bat was a dream, Adams, who has won consecutive All-SEC accolades, said he had goosebumps after his first at-bat when he hit a two-run homer off Randy Fontanez in the first.

He was giddy after the hit, but he wasn’t very nervous coming into the game.

“Honestly, for a lot of us it felt like another scrimmage game because we’ve been scrimmaging so much,” Adams said. “About five minutes until game time everybody started getting that look like, ‘All right, it’s here. We’re ready to go.’ Everybody was ready and it was a good night.”

Besides Florida’s offensive explosion in the first, Friday meant the return of a familiar face. After spending the 2009 season sidelined after shoulder surgery, sophomore right-hander Tommy Toledo made his first appearance on the mound in more than a year.

He started strong as he struck out his first batter, but admitted jitters caught up to him while facing his third batter, Stephen Hunt, who saved the inning with a single to center. After Hunt stole second, Toledo walked Sam Mende off a wild pitch, putting runners at the corners.

Toledo then calmly struck out the next batter on a 3-2 count.

Toledo’s nerves didn’t leave him. His control problems landed him in a bases-loaded situation in the second, but like the inning before, he escaped with a strikeout and the clean sheet.

“It was definitely good to get my feet wet a little bit with the guys on and get those situations out of the way,” Toledo said. “I’m sure its going to be like that for the rest of the season, so I’m glad I got the first one out of the way.”

Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan pulled Toledo after 3 1/3 innings with four strikeouts, two walks and an unearned run off 71 pitches. He was replaced by lefty Alex Panteliodis, who picked up the win after 3 1/3 innings and three strikeouts.

Florida’s bats went silent after Fontanez found his rhythm. He retired six straight after giving up those four runs and went 6 2/3 with five strikeouts in the losing effort.

Adams, who went 3-for-3 on the night, hit his second homer in the fifth and drove in his fourth run with a double in the seventh that scored senior center fielder Matt den Dekker.

The early bat work proved too much for the Bulls, but nerves kept the game from getting out of hand as Florida committed two errors on the night and only five hits after the first inning.

Still, O’Sullivan was pleased with the solid opening.

“There’s nothing like opening day,” he said. “Everybody’s anxious and everybody’s kind of amped up. I could tell our (batting practice) was a little different. It’s always good to get the first one out of the way.”

National Signing Day!…the day silly ass College Football junkies (like myself) are glued to their favorite sites waiting for 17 – 18 year old kids to commit their College choices! For the Florida Gators, the class is pretty much complete; and all before 11am! This is the earliest I can recall this being “over”!…Well, there is a highly regarded OL Chaz Green who they still hope to get, but the rest are Signed sealed and ALL GATORS!. Check out that link, and dot the lines on what will be an amazing Defensive Line.

5* DE Ronald Powell (#1 overall recruit, per Rivals)

5* DT Sharrif Floyd (#4 overall recruit, per Rivals)

5* DT Dominique Easley (#7 overall recruit, per Rivals)

4* DE Lynden Trail (#123 overall recruit, per Rivals)

Add Safety Matt Elam (5*, overall #25 player, per Rivals) and Cornerback Joshua Shaw (4* overall #28 player, per Rivals) and the Defense might be kinda strong!…AGAIN!

Collectively, 10 of the Rival Top 100 are signed in as Gators…well, Travon Van isn’t “in” yet, but should be (HE’S SIGNED NOW!) (He’s not in the top 100 though). If Chaz Green (#43 overall, per Rival / OL) avoids the UTenn temptations, he could make 11 of the top 100 that are Gators (& 5 of the top 28 !). Not bad for a Coach who nearly had to quit due to health problems, in the middle of recruiting! Just added Adrian Coxson, 6’2″ wr from Maryland. 27 loi’s, one spot left….for Mr Green!?!?!?!

floridafans19

OSU is humming right around the #26 mark, though when OL Seantrell Henderson (#2 overall recruit, per Rivals) commits, that will shoot them back in the top 20 easy! They really didn’t have a whole lot of need this year. Young team, pretty much already set for 2010. Still, got a good class.

UC hasn’t cashed in, they are listed at #56…B-Kelly left no favors when he parted. They’ve lost a few of the touted recruits they had. By late afternoon they could fall into the 60′s in class rank.

The SEC is, once again, taking the bulk of the talent, by conference. Seven of the top 19 ranked classes are from the SEC. (Florida, Auburn, Alabama, LoSerU, Tennessee, Jawja, and Ole Miss ; SoCarolina fell to #26) Making it once again, the top conference in recruiting. Somehow people STILL doubt they are the best!…As if 4 National Titles in a row, and 5 out of the last 6 didn’t nail it down for them….???

Take away from it?…A great season!

12-1 sucks, dont it?…Yeah, it sucked for the Gator fans too! They/we were pizzed off, after the ‘Bammer game. They thought they’d be playing next week, on Thursday! That didn’t happen, though, because they screwed the pooch in the SEC Championship game. Alabama had things working, and outplayed Florida. Now BAMMER gets the big date with the “Steers”, and a shot at the big brass ring.

Florida got to play one more game before it would be “over”…and ANY BCS Bowl game is an honor and a big deal; Win or lose. UC had a great year, no shame in going 12-1,….No shame in winning a (BCS) Div One Crown!….No shame in igniting a city’s passion for Football;- in a town void of “good” Sport for so long. No shame in putting the city on the Football map, and placing two great players (and super individuals) into the NFL Draft board! (at least)

fatguysports112

In 1995, Florida went 12-0 through te regular season, and earned a game with the Corndogs from Nebraska!….They led after the first quarter, but ended up getting pummeled by perhaps the greatest College Football team of all time….at least some can argue they were! Florida responded by winning the National Title the following year. Steve Spurrier wasn’t the Coach bringing in 5-star recruits with much regularity. He took his “kind” of players, and made they play his brand of Football. Kinda like what Brian Kelly was doing here. UCincinnati can use this season as a springboard, to continue this success. The loss last night might have looked bad, or felt bad, but its part of the growth. The city showed they will support this, and the love is everywhere. I went to 8 different places today, and was cursed out in everyone!….That’s some good Bearcat support there, folks!

Speculation ABOUNDS!…First off, “NO”!…I am not accepting the job if and when Jeremy Foley calls me…and he will. Second, Tebow will NOT become the youngest ever Head Coach of a major College Program as a result of this news. Though that would be kinda cool, it’ll probably not happen, even after I spurn their offer.

Too bad Brian Kelly already has HIS dream job, eh?….How funny would THAT be? Stoops, Kyle Whittingham(Utah) and Dan Mullen (Missy State) appear as common choices. I’d rather Charlie Strong disconnect from L’ville and take it up, though he’s seen by many as too green (no HC experience). I say he’d do just fine, and would maintain a solid commit to the Defense. Bob Stoops is too far removed to have the intended impact, though he’d be a big name,…sadly, he will not be leaving Oklahomo until he’s ready to retire.

Notre Dame fans have offered Chunky, but Foley didn’t have enUFf Double Bubble grape flavor to cinch up the deal…Speculation of this move, however, that he might end up in G’ville DID boost investing in the local Wendy’s and Burger Kings franchises. Also, Lard-o-Boy Donuts looked into available space close to the Stadium,….thankfully there appear to be 4200 candidates ahead of Big-Butt, so….all that for nothing.

floridafromspace

Recruits appear to be locking in on theoir commits, but they have yet to be pressed by some of the sharks that will certain to be circling Urban’s carcass as the season progresses. Its more the nature of the biz than anything disrespectful though. The biggest winner of this happening will be Saban and Mack, as they will be the most likely to qualify for the talent that could be available.

Do the Gators get another Ron Zook?…or do they do a little better this go ’round?….Haters are hoping for the Zookster!….and Lame Kitten is probably still laughing!

TK(O) Wetherell, President of halFasSU and notable alum, ( Tallahassee, Fl) has apparently lost his mind!….Responding to the NCAA handing down sanctions, and the repeated suggestion that Booby Bowden’s win’s mark is the BIGGEST reason he’s still head Coach, TK shows his real Semi’hole colors!???..oh, and he wants to take out Teeb’s too, that’s his plan to (finally) BEAT UFlorida!….Insane is a color, right?….Insane A.K.A. “Garnet”…(for the slow, FSU’s colors are Garnet and Gold,…buy your lunatic wear here: INSANE )

…West Virginia finshed the 1993 season, under head coach Don Nehlen, undefeated…..They’d beaten four ranked teams, including #21 Mizzu, #17 Louisville, and #4 Miami (Thu “U”) ALL in Morgantown. In addition, they also took down Boston College IN Newton (MA). (All rankings were “end of season” rankings). The Mizzu game was a bloodbath (35-3), but the others were all close….36-35, 17-14, and 17-14 (in order). They won their first BigEast Title, and first Conference Title in 17 years (1967 – Southern Conf. title, when they finished the season 5-4-1; but 3-0 in conference!). That conference “win” remains to this day, only ONE of two OUTright Big East titles for the mountain men! (2007, the other).

Still, Donnie and the Wild Davey Crocketts were steamed to NOT play Nebraska in the “BIG-ONE”! (The Orange Bowl)….and since the Big East sought money that year, they rejected the Cotton Bowl to go play Florida in the Sugar! (MISS-take!)…..For a team that lacked history or any serious recognition, they talked it up pretty good prior to the game. Florida didn’t stand a chance…..The only problem, this was a time when Spurrier was on the “GROW”!….and, well, there also was Florida LB Monty Grow!

Its worth watching through JUST to see WVU’s QB Darren Studstill try and fix his chin strap before the next play!….at about 1:10-ish in. Then freshman Lawrence Wright (#4) returns a pick for a score, and the rout is on. The Mountain’steers felt pretty good after an opening game drive and score, UnFortunately, it just wasn’t their night.

41-7 was the final, and the smack surrounding that game, from the WVU’ers, rivals ONLY that of the 2006 Nat Title game!…making this classic, one of the top 5 Gator Bowl games.

Lawrence Wright had a pretty memorable hit too, during his UF days….in ’95 against UT’s Joey Kent…I’m betting Kent NEVER forgave P Manning for this one..

BOOM!

thanks for watching.
