Bearcats Loses BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge Finale to Ohio State, 6-5; fall to 0-3 on the season

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Cincinnati baseball team battled back-and-forth with Ohio State, but the Bearcats were unable to come out on top as they fell to the Buckeyes 6-5 Sunday afternoon at Red McEwen Field on the USF campus. Cincinnati (0-3) out-hit Ohio State (3-0) 11-10, but a fifth-inning sacrifice fly for Ohio State proved to be the difference.

Coaches say the dumbest things!
First off, ANYthing that comes out of Charlie Weis’ face, is “dumbest”-ever worthy. Dating to his infamous rant about being jumped in the polls by a better team even though that team had a bye, and his struggled with yet ANOTHER inferior opponent; “Some team stayed home eating cheeseburgers and they jumped us”….That’s my favorite, still. Yeah, Charlie, EVERYONE stUFs cheeseburgers in their pie hole on their off days!….gee, wonder how you got in trouble with the weight thing, eh Chunk!???
Anyway, Dickie Rod in Michigan told the die-hard UM fans to “get a life”,…and was generally annoyed that this past season (his first) irked those salary-paying “lifers” so much….The season, of course, was by Michigan standards “Press-the-coach-to-a-stake-and-burn-his-ass” bad!,….or, “Oh-my-we-didn’t-go-to-a-Bowl-game this year” HORRIBLE!….still….Dickie Rod struck out at them!
Now, cool, calm, and collective Coach Vest Tressell says to the throngs of fans in the paper today,…”I don’t feel pressure to win this BCS Bowl (against Texas),…its not gonna change my life either way!”….WOW!,..living a little TOO much off your past, there, maybe? I thought winning was important ALL the time!..Particularly to Coaches making LARGE SCRATCH, at LARGE schools in LARGE conferences. Maybe this “oh winning would be nice, but its just a Football game” attitude is the reason tOSU’s been beaten so badly the last 3 times the Nation’s seen them?…or maybe the past has made him think winning these big ones isn’t doable?
I understand that “calm” is his “style”, but after finding success REAL easy to start his OSU career, its gotten a little hazy of late. Perhaps this game isn’t one in which he feels overly confident about, but good lord, “ACT” like its winnable, dude! Reading that article, it sounds like he making some “pre-game” excuse or rationale for getting beat. I guess, the big swing will be if they DO win, then it’ll be a HUGE upset-and he’s a GAWD again,…..still, as a player or fan, I would get the impression he’s setting this up to be another CRUSHING defeat! The School may survive, but the baiting will continue,…and the conference will look bad as a result too,…not that BIG10’ers generally worry about that kinda stUFf.
The defeat won’t look as bad, if PENnIState can beat USCw, or even if Wiscony can take out F$U,…but neither of those teams are “picked” to win their games either!….Still!, at least their Coaches didn’t go out and all but admit defeat in the local paper(s)!
I hope OSU DOES beat Texas!…and, I thought they had more than just a chance to do that!,…’till I read Coach Vest’s economic doom report!
Texas is good, but come on Coach,….you can win another BIG ONE!
