Is this the year to be a Buckeye?  Ohioan?  From Da NATI?  Possibly.  Looks like the Redlegs are going to the Playoffs, we know the Buckeyes are going to be in the BCS Championship bowl against the Crimson Tide (lets be honest, Florida doesn’t have what it takes to even be considered in that conversation this year), and if the Bengals can figure shit out on Offense, they’ll be in the playoffs again.

Which bar is going to have the Best Playoff atmosphere for the Reds games?  Let us know and we’ll be there!

Leap and yee shall score!

When it works, it looks good,….when it doesn’t work,..you look like a jackass! This one worked!

Baseball Season is in full “swing”, particularly against our beloved Reds. We turned a pitching strength into a mighty weakness, once again! Oh Mr Chapman, when will you come and save us? When you lose 3 straight against the Pirates, you know early its going to be a LONG season.

How can a team like the Reds afford to pay Harang 12.5 million a season, and hand him another $2 million to leave us alone next year? Thanks to that GREAT Union we have running Baseball. How ’bout this, when the US actually is the best country in Baseball, how ’bout THEN we justify paying a failure 12.5 million a year to go 12-33 over the last couple years plus. Sure, none of this is “news”, but there’s also nothing that can be DONE about it! The Union runs the show, and quality baseball is NOT a concern with them.

As Reds fans we have to wait out bad contracts, then HOPE for little mini-miracles to happen just to get a shot at the playoffs! -NOW, Pro FOOTBALL is going to run their game w/o a cap?; and some of us still wonder why so many Steeler and Colt fans live among us?….Oh, and I haven’t even GOTTEN to Chud Ocho-stinko yet!

How long is it until Xavier Basketball starts up again?…..

Ha-rangutan pitchs BP to Marlins

Unfortunately for Aaron Ha-rangutan, me and Al Gore invented the internet a few years ago.  Otherwise, his little secret about how much he sucks right now could’ve been held by himself and the 2000+ fans that apparently didn’t have shit else better to do tonight in Florida.  Is it really any shock that our Opening Day loser, our numbero uno batting practice machine got lit up for 8 runs in just over 4 innings?  The real story here isn’t that Harang is sucking in April again.  The story is that Cantu could’ve broken the single season “hit & RBI in the same game” record.  But Harang decided to turn 5th grade on his ass and walked him.  Cantu was up with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the the big jerk on the mound walked him.  You know Cantu was trotting down to first thinking, “what a fuckin’ dick”.  And he’s right!  Harang should’ve pitched to him, hung one of those lazy curve balls over the center of the plate and let Cantu at least swing at it.

Side note – Unreported confirmed and invalidated reports say that you could hear the 2000 people chanting, “We want a pitcher not an underwear stitcher”.

It’s that time of year again boys and girls!  Another spring, everyone is filled with so much optimism.  And I have to tell you, I’m no exception.  But I love baseball, I love the hometown teams, even when they suck.  And when it comes to baseball I’m usually cussing the Reds by the end of May.  There’s an article on a local newspaper site that you can check out HERE .  I started reading it, was getting excited then they have an article titled “The 2000s: Griffey comes, woes follow”.  I think I might write the author of that article and tell them what a piece fo shit they are, and that they can eat a dick and die for all I care.  Then I’ll really tell them how I feel.  I’ll debate with people all day over Griffey Jr.  I’m totally Pro-Griff.  Dude played his ass of for a bunch of unappreciative, uneducated, band-wagon jumping fucking idiots.  All he wanted was to be left alone in return.  I’ll touch on this subject during the season I’m sure, because I know some dumbass is really going to piss me off about this.

ENJOY OPENING DAY BIOTCHES!

A little bit fun again?

mdxcrewFirst off, did anyone know the Reds had Cheerleaders?  I know, me either!  I’m not sure who fatty is in the middle or the little dingo to his left, but the two chicks on the end need to stop by FatGuy HQ, wrap their hands around my Microphone, and sing a duet for me!  Let me get an “Amen”!

Now, on to the issue at hand (and not it’s not those big ta ta’s on the chick to fatty’s right).  The Reds are a little fun to watch again right?

For the last few yrs the only excitement was wondering if the Reds were going to keep the game close enough for Dunn or Griffey to hit a game winning or thrilling walk off Home Run.  Now, its fun to watch all aspects of the game.  Except for the dismal abyss that is a hitting slump for Brandon Phillips, but everyone goes through hitting slumps.

The pitching that we have cried about for so many years is finally better, our closer is 7 for 7 in saves.  There’s youth at nearly every position.  And they genuinely look like they are having fun.  They are playing small ball, doing the little things, and most of all…Hustling!

I’m not saying they are headed for the WS or even the playoffs for that matter, but there’s more hope this year than there has been in a long time.

…like a spider hole in Iraq!

Cheese and Crackers!…..how do you give up 14 hits in less than 5 innings!?!?!?! Two walks, 14 hits and 10 runs! (only 3 were “earned” though)….that’s not a bad line from his ERA standpoint, but the 16 baserunners sure is!!! ….fahq,..KAZMIR doubled, for gawd sake!..Kazmir!….yeah, he’s a pitcher in the American league!…that’s right!
Can some one hypnotize Bronson “Guitar-hero” A-yoyo and make him think its already AFTER the All-Star break, and that the Reds are out of contention already?

The Bruce 2-run Jack,…nice…..#3 for the Spring?…..ok,…not gonna be enUFf though…..The Reds stared out strong(er),…Hannigan looks good,….

CINCINNATI (AP) – Pop singer and local native Nick Lachey will throw out the ceremonial first pitch April 6 to start the major league baseball season in Cincinnati.

…..Well thank god it won’t be that quack Mallory!  What an embarrasing moment for the Reds and more importantly, our city!  When I saw that I pitch I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.  What a sad moment.

Oh and congrats to Nick.  I’m sure he’s much happier throwing out the first pitch than he was when he was pitching to Jessica.  I bet the sound was a little sweeter when the ball hit her mit  ;-)   Oh well, whattaya gonna do?  Not to be out done, Bronson Arroyo is going to ride in the opening day parade.  Yaaaaah!  Just what we need,  a guitar playing pretty boy riding on a float, when his ass needs to be in the clubhouse with the rest of the TEAM!  Hell, Griff and Dunn never rode a float, but at times they did seem to just float around in the outfield.

If you’re one of the lucky ones that gets to go to the Opening day ceremonies and the game itself, have a good time, and let Nick know the next hot young dumb blonde is just around the corner!

The Reds are off at 12-1…

…per the “Vegas” Opening line, anyway!….

 redsbaseball2009

USAToday had a good write up about the POTENTIAL Reds starting pitching, and the POSSIBILITY of the starting 5 being an envious group. AND!,..in THEORY, they have a mentionable point!..still, I think .500 is as good as they’ll get, with the possibility of a +/- two or three game swing. However!,…if that pitching promise materializes,…AND the hitting is there to support the POTENTIAL pitching (again, a reach, but possible) “strength”?….., how are we gonna handle being in a “playoff race” in this town?…..What’s that even LIKE?…It will be interesting to note if the fans will be able to handle a run like that…..-nah,..never mind!

Excited about the Reds?

The bitter taste of another losing Bengals season is slowly starting to fade, low expectations for the upcoming draft are in full-swing, but we actually have something else to think about and be excited about now.

Reds Baseball.

The Reds beat the Devil Rays yesterday 7-0.  I know it’s only pre-season, and this win does absolutely nothing for me.  I’m excited because this is a new year, with a lot of young talent, with speed, and probably most importantly – WITHOUT the big Ego’s.

I’ve said it several times here, I’ve always been a Griffey fan and his ego was warrented.  But he is older, injury prone, and he is finally back to end it in Seattle, where it all began for him.  That’s good news for the Reds.  Because it means they don’t have that 1 big super star.  They have a Team full of young guys trying to make a name for themselves, they have a chip on their shoulder with something to prove.  I realize alot of the experts don’t think they can even play .500 ball this year.  But I think they are wrong.  You just can’t sleep on cocky young guys with something to prove.  While I don’t think they are World Series bound (yet), I think we will have a lot of exciting baseball this year.

No more watching the white Shaq lumbering around out in left field like he’s pissed off he has to go chase a ball.  No more watching Griff pull a hammy while hustling and diving after a short fly ball that he would’ve easily caught standing up just 5 yrs. ago.  The pitching staff looks hungry and poised to prove a lot of people wrong.  Brandon Phillips is the clearly defined club-house leader that will not allow the piss poor attitudes and careless work ethic that has plagued this team for so long.

This isn’t the year that they stand on the mountain top, but don’t be surprised either.
