Bengals or Bungles?
We’ve all seen projections from the Kiper-wanna-bee’s (including Kiper himself!) that the #6 pick could be a WR, LB, OL or, GAWD forbid, a RB!….I’m ALL for the Bungles to pick the Virginee OL or if the dude from Baylor slips past St Lou, to take him…..if both are gone, though,..and the Bungles take Smith? (from ‘Bammer, who left the combine w/o notice?) then they’d be opening themselves up for more criticism….Whoever takes the guy will, though….and though some experts have him UNdrafted for the first DAY!,..other have him still (after the Pro-Day in Bama) as a top 10 pick….so,…Can the Bungles afford to pick him, if the 1st two OL’s are gone?…..not likely to fall that way,..but possible.
Do they then take Crabs?….JUST because the Raiders want him?…..or would the Raiders just take the overall best WR on the board (Percy Harvin) and not sweat a bead?…….seems unlikely the Bengles would play a “card” anyway……and Crabs is a super potential-kid….
still,..who would YOU take?….
Marvin Lewis – Genius or Jackass?
Marvin Lewis wants a little Discipline. And after the garbage we’ve been through the last few years, he has the balls to say that he believes the team can reach the playoffs with a little discipline. And after hearing that statement, I have to ask….Do they still film games? Because I know he can’t say that with a straight face after watching the same bullshit I’ve watched the last 2 seasons.
Marvin says, and I quote – “From blocking to finishing plays, to our wide receivers blocking and being at the right depth on routes. The discipline of guys playing those spots has to improve. They eroded, and that’s what hurt us and got our QB hurt,” Lewis said.
Well no shit Sherlock! That’s the basic fundamentals of every team . Block, pass, run, protect. Local high school and peewee teams have that concept! A friend and I were talking prior to the season even starting. And we decided that Carson wouldn’t make it through the season. Either I’m psychic or can simply state the obvious. I think everyone in Bengal Nation knew that carson wasn’t going to finish the season.
Unfortunately for Marvin, the problems go much deeper than Ocho-Stinko dropping an easy pass or not making contact because he’s afraid to take a hit. He has to overcome the incident that occurred in the ’05 playoff game. To my knowledge, no official report was given. And we’ve all heard rumors about what actually happened. Either there was a fight between players, or 85 and lewis were throwing blows. Whatever it was, it was major! And it was very obvious in the 2nd half of that game. It was like complete anarchy. Kitna running around in the back field, lost and discombobulated. And you could tell nobody was in the game and they gave up.
Since that game, things haven’t been the same. And it had it’s worst moment when Carson had his snout busted. Tell me how in the hell your franchise quarterback gets his nose busted and nobody on the team retaliates? How do you not have blood coming from your pores, chomping at the bit, hoping for a chance to put one of their guys out of the game……THEN….Rivers gets his jaw busted, by Hines Ward of all people. And again, nobody does anything.
The problem dear Marvin, isn’t discipline, it’s a lack of respect for you and there’s no unity, no brotherhood. The analogy of war is often used, being in the trenches, it’s a battle. The problem is that nobody has each others back. And now, there are several cancers and too many ego’s out there. He NEEDS CONTROL! If he regains control, he can regain this team. Otherwise, all the discipline in the world won’t help this team make the playoffs.
