In related news, Jesse Jackson thinks Dan Gilbert is treating Lebron James like a runaway slave.  And I couldn’t agree more.  Along with the fact that the ESPN coverage of “Countdown to Decision” lasted longer than the movie Roots itself.  Aside from the fact that Lebron is running from North to South and he was being offered a gazillion dollars to stay, the similarities are baffling.  Nice call Jesse, spot on as usual.  Way to take an issue about money and championships and turn it into a racially motivated issue to advance your political agenda.

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert – SOURCE

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE”

Virginia Beach police: Case closed;Vick not a suspect Virginia Beach police issued a statement updating their investigation into the shooting that injured a man outside a nightclub that was hosting Michael Vick’s 30th birthday party. The police have indentified the shooter, but cannot charge the suspect because the victim and various witnesses have been uncoopertive. The statement went on to say that there are no other suspects, including Vick. The Eagles quarterback released a statement last week claiming his innocence in the shooting that maimed a codefendantin his dogfighting case. The Eagles have been conducting their own fact-finding search and have yet to find any information that would lead them to believe Vick was involved. The team, therefore, isn’t expected to release its backup quarterback, despite cries from some fans and media for the Eagles to cut ties with Vick. Here’s the Virginia Beach police statement in its entirity, released by spokesman Adam Bernstein: “Investigators were able to determine the identity of the shooter. Unfortunately because of the lack of cooperation from the victim, coupled with the reluctance of witnesses, the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, upon reviewing all of the evidence, has determined that no charges will be filed in this case at this time. Because the suspect will not be charged, his identity cannot be released by police. There are no other suspects in this case, including Michael Vick.”

Now, if Ukentucky can just get the conference some CURRENT Bball Titles (again) we’ll be all set!

Omaha, Neb. – Whit Merrifield singled home Scott Wingo in the bottom of the 11th inning, lifting South Carolina to a 2-1 win over UCLA, clinching the National Championship for the Gamecocks.

Wingo led off the final frame with a walk, moved to second on a passed ball, advanced to third on a bunt by Evan Marzilli and scored on Merrifield single to right.

The two starting pitchers, South Carolina’s Michael Roth and UCLA’s Rob Rasmussen locked up in a tight duel, but neither was around to figure in the decision. Roth allowed one run on six hits over 5.0 innings, while Rasmussen scattered six hits and four walks over 6.0 scoreless frames.

UFlorida spends 90 mil, and Utah 20 million, but they should get equal shares?..right?…..So, my neighbor buys 100 million in GOOGLE stock, and I bought 100 dollars worth, but he and I are owed the same split???…Yeah, I’m sure that’s how both Hatch and Mr Wentworth roll!

With the money and size of Texas, does Houston, Texas-El Paso, Baylor or North Texas REALLY get a “level” playing field from which to start? Doesn’t the big fish (Texas itself) squash out the little teams’ ability to compete by using up the lion’s share of the resources? Coaches, facilities, marketing ability and payoffs; to ensure THEY are the team getting the best shot at your “16 team” field of contenders? Certainly you’re not suggesting this politicking is for the benefit of Utah State, or San Diego State even, by offering an even playing field across the 119 team Div one surface, right? NO! Your move here is to attach your legacy to the hope of an eventual move by the NCAA to a “Playoff system” of some kind. This is just a self-fulfilling move on your part, and nothing more!

I think the NCAA has a system that is right in line with what Texas has in mind, despite their exclusion from the 2008 National Title game. (Which by the way, was based on an agreement they signed WITH the benefit of legal counsel -referring to the “tie” breaker clause in the BIG12 bylaws signed by ALL 12 schools before the 2008 season started). Texas has used their size, investment monies and position within the State to build up what would only qualify as a Monopoly,…yet you seek more for them!?!?!

FAIR!:…this is about fairness in Sport, right?…fairness like they have in the union-strangled game of Baseball, perhaps?…In a game where the Yankees spend 210 million on players, while teams on the other end can only pay 50-60 million? I’m not sure which is more painfully predictable:
1. Ocho spending more time putting on make-up (for his TV spots) or him putting on his pads (to help his team win),
2.  The fact that the owner of the team is not only saying nothing about it, but probably helped him book the events!, or
3. That the so called ”Bengal” fans will continue to make excuses why this piece of sh*t is still coveted in this town, even though time after time he chooses non-football events over the one he’s suppose to be good at!! –AND PAID TO PERFORM!…???

Add to the predictable amazement is; Come game 10 or 11 when the Bungles aren’t getting it done, this same TV-whore-asshole will call someone else on the team out, and blame them for the playoff-less road they’re on….and how these same fans who show undying love and twitter affections for the Chud, will support his silly ass notions that; No one (else) ever IS to blame.
