Xavier University’s mens’ basketball schedule was released today which includes at least 11 appearances on ESPN’s family of networks. A late season trip to Gainesville on Feb 13 highlights the non-conference slate. The Gators and Wake Forest return trips to Cincinnati (Cintas Center) in ‘10-’11.  Other high profile non-conference opponents include a trip to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis to take on what should be a top 15 rated Butler University 12/19,  the Old Spice Classic in Orlando which features an opening round draw with Marquette on Thanksgiving, and either Michigan/Creighton the following day, at Kansas St, LSU, and Cincinnati on Sunday 12/13. Interesting note about the Crosstown Shootout: Coach Cronin refused to schedule Xavier on the road this upcoming season until 6-11 230 lb sophomore transfer Ibrahima Thomas was eligible. UC will go to Maui in November without the Oklahoma State transfer. Thomas is eligible upon UC’s return from Maui. Thomas will add a nice defensive compliment to sophomore Yancy Gates down low and at times will spearhead the full court press that Cronin may implement more this season.

First the Reds leave Florida (Spring Training) for Arizona, and now,….pretty much the next best thing going in Cincinnati, Sean Miller leaves for the Painted Dessert too. DANG!…..Hard to blame the guy, but “X” fans will BBQ his nads ANYway!…..hey, at least we still have Marvin and Baker, eh?   (sorry, that doesn’t help any does it…)So long, Mr Miller,…..thanks for building the “X”  team up!…Best o’Luck in that hot (but dry) heat out there!….I hear they have the BEST Quesadillas out there….

Anyway, since being dismissed from the NCAA Tourney by the mega-powerhouse Dayton, Huggins has been (apparently) burning up the phone lines, looking for popular teams to play down the road…I remember while he was in Cincy he used to say no one would play him….Why?..’cause he was too good, or were they just waiting to match up with him in the Tourney, where they were nearly guaranteed to get the “W”!…. One team of interest to Huggy-boob?…..-Florida!!…….AWESOME!!!  I guess he can ask Billy D what its like to win 2 NCAA Nat-Titles (rings), and still not have a bronze statue of yourself…?? LINK
