The hidden BALL trick, BC?…you fell for the HIDDEN BALL TRICK?!?!
OUCH!…following a game tying triple, too?…MAN!, that’ll stay with a guy for a while!

Florida’s baseball players had seen it fail so many times during inter-squad games that they never thought it would work.
“We took all the momentum back,” starter Hudson Randall said of the play. “They were dead in their shoes after that play.”
It was too much of a gimmick and too easy to spot.
Well, not if two freshmen tried to execute it
The ole’ hidden-ball trick, adored by high schoolers and a fun way to make practices interesting, is a rarity at the college level, but Florida freshmen Zack Powers and Daniel Gibson dared to use it at a critical time Friday night.
After Gibson gave up a two-run, two-out triple to Boston College shortstop Brad Zapenas in the top of the seventh that tied the game at 3, Powers began to execute the trick at third.
Instead of immediately tossing the ball to Gibson, he faked a throw as Zapenas celebrated his hit. Gibson slowly made his way to the mound, but never touched it. As soon as Zapenas stepped off third, Powers tagged him, ending the inning and extinguishing BC’s momentum.
Top-ranked Florida (6-0) then stole that momentum and piled on six runs over the seventh and eighth innings to clinch the series with a 9-3 win over the Eagles (2-3)
Sometimes its the simple things in Baseball, that make ya love this game!!!! BC heads south to play the Red Sox in a Saturday game, before heading back to Gainesville for Sunday’s final game.
