Kids from Winton Woods, do some Good(s)

Noted today, several kids from the Winton Woods wrestling team got up, out and off to work shoveling driveways in their neighborhood! AWESOME jesture guys!
WINTON WOODS, OH – The Winton Woods Wrestling Warriors are trading in the snooze button for snow shovels.
The team’s coach, Chris Willertz came up with the idea last year as a way to give back to the neighborhood for passing a levy last year to keep sports in the schools.
“The people in November voted in the levy despite the recession and as a wrestling team we thought we needed to do some type of community service to thank the community,” says Willertz.
Wrestlers Evan Durrah and Desmond Jarman say shoveling is a great upper body workout and it makes them feel good to help others out.
“Helping other people, you get a good feeling from that and I believe that good things come to people who work hard,” says Jarman.
“I think of it as sharing our strength with others for those who cannot shovel their driveway, I think it was very helpful,” says Durrah.
This year in addition to volunteering their time, the wrestlers are asking neighbors to sponsor them by helping pay for their activity fees and in return they will continue to shovel driveways every snow day during the season.
Reports had them at 35 (or so) driveways cleared! Great JOB, and good luck on the seasons! Way to forgo the extra free sleep, and day of playing video games…and going out into your community! WELL DONE!

Yeah, it doesn’t really fit here, but it needed to be posted: NOW, 4 NON-Bungle NFL jokes I saw somewhere:
1. Chicago threw a blizzard for the Patriots game. You know what happens when it gets cold? Bears hibernate.The weather was so bad in Chicago, many people didn’t make it to work. Including the Bears.
The Bears lost by 29 points. But with the wind chill, it felt like 49.

2. The Lions won! You never know what’s going to happen. My dad always said what I assume is a Greek expression, “The ball is round.” I would say, “Dad, it’s football. The ball is not round.”The Packers handled the Lions badly. Like Siegfried and Roy.
Packers QB Aaron Rogers left the game with a concussion. So the Lions won the same way as with Roy — they went for the head.
Because of the weather on Sunday my buddy Tom was actually stuck in Detroit. He said, “Now I know how Calvin Johnson feels…”
The Lions are taking longer to rebuild than the World Trade Center. Seriously, it’s been 9 years since 9/11. And nothing yet at ground zero? Who’s in charge of that project? Matt Millen?
3. The Falcons had a bye this week. They played the Panthers.The Panthers lost another one. In other words, “Welcome to Charlotte, Cam Newton”
The Panthers suck every week. They must not be married.
The Panthers have spent the whole season in the basement. Someone needs to tell them it’s football season. Not tornado season.
4. Ben Roethlisberger has been wearing a special boot all week to immobilize his sprained right foot. I wonder if that company can make him a jockstrap.Ben’s nose was broken so badly, the doctor said the X-ray of his nose cartilage looked like a bowl of Corn Flakes. So if he laughs really hard and milk comes out of his nose, he can make breakfast.
A fight broke out after the Steelers game against the Bengals. Even Carson Palmer threw a punch, but it was intercepted.

Had to beat the shit outta that Bungles game!…..Ocho was brilliant, as usual (note sarcasm) and now has: 59(c)\725(y)\12.3(a)\4(td) on the year. This is YOUR self-proclaimed HOF wr, who RANKS 19th in catches, 22nd in yards, 123rd in avg yards, and 39th in TD’s! Don’t you remember the guy who ranked 39th in TD’s the last few years talk crap all year?…Yeah, and sent taunting Tee-shirts to the secondary of a team that kicked his teams ass? The Bungles were 2-3 at that time, and maybe there’s no such thing as karma, but this shit sure hasn’t ever shown to help the team. TO, who is now 37 years old, ranks in the top 5 in catches(4th), yards(5th) and TD’s(5th), will likely seek out a 2-3 year deal somewhere else next year. IT wont be here, because he’s gonna ask for more money!….How that will positively effect Chud next year can only be imagined! (please keep that uber-gay Batman and Robin act together, and leave as a package deal!!!! please!?!?!)
Carson Palmer has certainly done HIS share to help in this losing streak!…No one can deny that. However, since he doesn’t resort to crappy anti-team tactics and ridiculous self-promotion gimmicks to promote himself despite sucking ass, I’ll just hope he gets better or is released. Of course since its much more difficult to move out a dickhead wr, than an under-producing QB….we’ll just have to hope he gets better.

Well, THAT’LL be one for the books, huh?….PAUL’s Sunday best. The Bengals woes have killed a spirit?…NAH! Not in this town! We’ve set the bar awfully low here!
Here’s my take on Mikey Brown’s reaction to Paul’s article: “Uh, who the “F” cares?”…and here’s why:
1. Because ,of course, he really doesn’t give a Fahq!….Like anyone here needs to be slapped with THAT reality!?…20 years of winless football should have secured that pretty good. He has never once taken the fans into consideration, and never will. That’s why this NFL town has more Browns’, Indy and Steeler fans in it, than Bengal fans. Why when you go to pick up your kid a school, its filled with kids wearing the colors of other NFL teams, and NOT so much the Bungles…sad.
2. This is Cincinnati,…and like Paul spelled it out, we have been programmed to accept a lot of losing here. Even a hint (of winning) is more than enUFf to stir up the passion here. Mikey knows this, and, he banks on it. Probably even laughs about the weakness of the fan base, I’m betting.
3. We think we’re the Chicago Cubs of Football. Losing and baseless promise in the off-season is all it takes to energize the masses again. Every year we lose, and every year the excitement is renewed with a draft pick or two. This year it was a desperate Terrell Owens who “claimed” he wanted to be HERE, because he really wanted to play with his good pal, Ocho-stinko….and, of course Ocho just wanted more media attention. Anything but actual football, huh!
4. Forgive and forget, is too easy to take. Mikey Brown knows all it takes is one “run” at + .500 every few years. He also knows that sticking bandon the problem makes the fans believe he is trying. Instead of trying to win based on a system, or a foundation, or a continuing philosophy,..Mikey just keep patching holes as they happen with suspect characters. Then we are surprised when their is this horrendous inconsistency that COMES with quick easy fixes….like 2-10 instead of a playoff-run.
5. The GM thing is never gonna happen…..There will never be a commitment, nor a release of power that enables anyone to come in and win here. This means no matter how close the team gets one year, it’ll ultimately fail because ownership is comfortable with losing…and making millions. He’s reserved to not even trying it…and if 20 years of losing hasn’t yet convinced him to even TRY it?..well…
Mikey also knows there are enUFf fans like DOC, who will always be there for him. Then, he’s got the HORRIBLE deal with the county that still makes him laugh (money).
Most of all, by July, the now timid sheep will be back in line…begging Mike Brown to club them (once again) over the head. –The line starts behind Doc!
