Ranking the Classes, College Football
Current rankings:
1. Texas, 2. Alabama, 3. FSU, 4. UFlorida, 5. Oklahoma, 6. tOSU, 7. LSU, 8. Georgia, 9. Clemson, 10. USC
11. Nebraska, 12. Notre Dame, 13. UNC, 14. Auburn, 15. California 16. Stanford, 17. Arkansas, 18. Okly State, 19. Virginia, 20. Oregon,
21. Washington, 22. Tennessee, 23. So Carolina, 24. Texas Tech, 25. Mississippi…with UKentucky just outside at #26!
NINE of the top 25, and the #26th team, are from the SEC…Missy State is listed 28th!– Meaning only Vanderbilt, from the SEC, is not listed in the top 30 right now.
The Big10/11/12?…WITH Nebraska in the mix now, has TWO (#6 and #11); The ACC has FOUR! (#3, #9, #13, #10); The Pac10 (with Colorado and Utah) scores FIVE teams in the top 25 (#10, #15, #16, #20, #21), and The Big12(-2) has FOUR (#1, #5, #18, and #24). Notre Dame, and their special table for one, is listed #12. They had a history of mis-managing top classes in So Bend, though. No one was better at wasting talent than Chunky Weis! The Big(L)East has no entries, even WITH TCU coming aboard.
Ranked recruits dont ALWAYS measure up to their rankings!….No, they sure dont. Neither do the lower ranked recruits. Having more highly ranked recruits has its benefits.
This collection of SEC teams bringing in top classes is the norm, and not an abberation. The top talent has been pouring itself into the SEC for many years!…When people say the SEC is the best conference in the country, this is one of the reasons why!
