2-9 is pretty good!….just ask The Enquirer!
Ok, so they didn’t DIRECTLY endorse 2-9 as “pretty good”, but they did say this, verbatim:
“OCHO FINE: While Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis did a fine job of blanketing Terrell Owens, Chad OchoASShole(added) had a strong game going up against the Jets’ Antonio Cromartie, hauling in four passes for 42 yards in the first half”
Yeah, that’s printed in the paper!….He had a STRONG GAME going up against Cromartie!….That’s the accepted standard here, I guess. When a STRONG GAME is 4 catches for 42 (41) yards, you KNOW you’re in Cincinnati. I now know why so many “fans” here think Ocho has been good all this time. Yeah, in towns with expectations, four catches for 41 yards isn’t considered a “STRONG GAME”,….I know this, because I talked with several people in towns where winning is expected, AND a goal of the team itself -yeah, go figure!. In those areas the daily “Fish Wrap” doesn’t refer to loud-mouth idiots who continually fail to deliver, as having STRONG GAMES when they accum 41 (or 42) yards on four catches;….in a loss….the 8th in a row.
OK, so teams in cities that expect to win don’t often lose 8 games in a row, you make a good point. They also dont celebrate players who need to constantly remind the fans that they ARE good…then go out and get shut-down. No, 2-9 is great! maybe we should hold a parade and put Batman and the Boy Blunder in the “Pope-Mobile”. Heck, after all they blew away the Jets for, collectively, 7 catches and 58 yards just DAYS after they talked yet MORE unprovoked smack! MORE smack that they couldn’t cover in the game.
BUT HEY!…Carlos Dunlap collected a couple sacks, huh?….nice to see HIM improve (and do so without shitting out his mouth every other day!) Rey Mag got a pick!….and the patch-work defensive secondary actually did a decent job, considering. This wasn’t a game lost by the defense!
Marvin Lewis failed to toss the red flag on the punt recovery,…he said because the boys in the booth said Caldwell came in contact with the ball. The replays they showed on the tube, didn’t show it hit him. The announcers, who were really really kind to the Bungles throughout, also said they didn’t see it hit him. So, why not throw the red hanky and take a chance? It was a BIG turnover and it should have been challenged. This is just more proof that winning and this team, dont go together; As if twenty straight years of zero playoffs wins (and only 4 non-losing seasons) wasn’t proof enUFf.
Hope you enjoyed the earlier portion(s) of your Thanksgiving Holiday…The model used by the Patriots seems to STILL be working fine. You know, no asshole wr’s on that team (Moss was good right up until,…then they got rid of him…THE Patriots way!). They dont tolerate those stupid-ass side-show antics…no, they just win, and win, and win…and get to the playoffs, and win more there. Man, it must SUCK ass to be a Patriot fan, huh? All that winning, but no diva-ass wr’s like we have here! No doubt they’d give it all up, for a wr tandem that has it own TV SHOW!!!!, and calls guys that OWN them, “Average”! (and two total wins!)….Oh, and “they” (The Pats) play the Jets twice a year! The Bungles get Cleveland twice. That use to be an advantage, until Cleveland didn’t want to suck anymore and moved on…or, they are moving on. Good Ol’Cincy is staying with the stA(SS)tus quo! Good ol’Mikey Brown!
Oh, and dont be surprised when, come July, you all are getting that warm and fuzzy feeling again; –Because we drafted “a” guy, or because Chud decided that THIS year he’s gonna work out in the off-season,..or, because we signed another unwanted free-agent who was good at some point in the past 10-15 years….Or, hell, maybe Mikey gets struck with fever and accidentally agrees to hire a GM?….OK, I just went too far!
