Pete is sticking with the "Gee, I didn't Know" excuse?
Pete just didn’t know nuthin’!….nothing?…Yeah, seems he was just “out of the loop”! The most popular player on his high-profile team was living in a Beach front house, as a college student, and Pete wasn’t aware of that?
Damn, he must think we are all as dumb as Mike Garrett! Pete Carroll “says” he didn’t know?!…He “says” that he was, OUT OF THE LOOP!?? Really?…He was (more or less) silent for months, and the BEST he and his team of lawyers and advisers could come up with was “out of the loop??……Dang, maybe he’s trying to help (like everyone else in Cali is) make Lame Kiffin look smart, here?…GOOD LUCK!!! I think even One-year Lame would have known!
…surely, wherever there’s a verbal gaffe, Lane Kiffin can’t be far behind.
Kiffin is a little boy trapped in his Daddy’s frail and fleeting shadow, Mike Garrett is either really really stupid, or smokes crack for breakfast (maybe its just “envy“, eh Mike!?)…..and Pete Carroll, once thought to be a brilliant College Football Coach, is trying to tell all of America he just “didn’t know”?– that he was, duh, simply ”out of the loop??….Well Gee, Pete, Thanks!!
Tell me Pete, where is the old USC bASSsketball Coach (Tim Floyd)?…and the former (you) Football Coach (Pete “I didn’t know anything” Carroll)?….Well, let’s see…Tim (Floyd) left a month AFTER he was accused of major violations (getting payments to OJ Mayo) just last year. He’s really sUFfering though, as he was picked up to lead another DIV one team, at UTEP. Recent reports, however, suggest he might be up to some of his old tricks already! Way to stay true to your colors Tim!..”Once a Trojan, ALWAYS a Trojan!!!”
Pete Carroll, aka the violating former USC Head Coach??…Well, I’m gonna assume you’re NOT IN THE LOOP on this one either, so I’ll “loop you”; …YOU. ARE. IN. SEATTLE. ;
On the day after the BCS Title Game, Southern Cal head coach Pete Carroll announced that he is resigning his position to take the same job with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. The USC coach has been to BCS games seven of the previous eight seasons and his resignation comes as a shock and surprise to his fans, players, and co-workers.
When asked why he was leaving a successful program to go to the Seattle Seahawks by UFreak in this fictional interview, Carroll said that there were a couple of reasons:
“First, I know that there are a lot more Starbuck’s in Seattle and it will be easier for me to get a cup of coffee.”
“Second, I sucked the first two times I coached at the professonal level and want to prove I can do it”
“Third, well, it’s still mostly about the coffee!”
…And you better get IN that loop soon, because rumor has it the season starts in a few weeks! You left USC after it was clear the shit and the fan were on a collision course! NOW, you say you didn’t know, but should have?….WOW! Also, Pete,..in the Pro game, EVERYONE on each team gets paid, so you won’t have that advantage anymore….Just thought I’d float that out there, in case,..you know,…you might have missed out on another “loop”!
Baseball people were pizzed off at Pete Rose because he just couldn’t admit his transgressions,…Some day you’ll come clean, throw the old team under a bus, and write a book….gawd, I cant wait! Tim, even the USC cheerleaders know you knew! Stop it!
Mike Garrett, Pete Carroll, Tim Floyd and Lame Kiffin?……What a collection! USC should be fine! Thanks to Will and Snoop, I guess!
Girl fails on tongue piercing…dies!
This is certainly a tragic happening, and no one deserves a fate like this -particularly some one so young!
In the city of Chelyabinsk in Russia’s Urals region a schoolgirl has died in an attempt to pierce her tongue at home.
During the New Year vacation a 12-year-old schoolgirl decided to have her tongue pierced and her four friends agreed to assist.
One of them had two ampoules of lidocaine to use as an anesthetic, which were then injected into the schoolgirls tongue.
However the piercing was not to happen, as after just fifteen minutes the 12-year-old began to have a seizure.
Paramedics found the 12-year-old on the staircase where the five had gathered to perform the fatal piercing, but were unable to save her.
After all, this poor young girl only wanted to express herself!..you know, like others around the World do, when they pierce their tongues! She “just” wanted to let the others know what kind of girl she “might” be!….You know, to give an impression to others what any 12-year old would WANT to give considering this choice of piercing. Yeah, I know,…the myth of tongue piercing is just that, a myth. Tongue piercings don’t MAKE the experience better, practice does!
So, if this poor Ruskie wasn’t looking to become the next little “Urals”-Anna(ie), then why do it? Some American girls have said they pierce their tongues to express themselves!?? Express themselves? Really?….and the sexual implications never factored into it, eh? Well, Given the declining state of the educational system in America, they might have a case there! Still, I’m gonna bet that the myth doesn’t hurt, and is more likely a BIG part of the “why”!
Maybe instead of the tongue piercing, or the Tramp Stamp (dirty needles can kill too), little wanna-be whores out there can just buy one of THESE instead!???? After all, bad tee-shirt dye never killed no whore,…uh, no one! AND!, everyone you run into would still get the message that you might want them to suspect you’re promiscuous,..right???
Oh, and one more thing to add,….Tattoos and piercings don’t make you more interesting or mysterious. They don’t make you a bad-ass, complex or a philosopher….They are just a type of tee shirt that you don’t get to take off, so easily. Few people care to hear “why” you did it (or did them), or care to know that you are somehow more enlightened by your choice. It doesn’t take any kind of special talent to get a tattoo or piercing. Getting Tattoos and wearing an off-color Yankees hat tilted to the left (or right) doesn’t make you a rapper, or an Allen Iverson wanna-be either….They are just another accessory option, or maybe a desperate plea to have people look at you!??
Rangers vs Reds…..
THE Texas Rangers (yeah, I just totally said that like Ohio State fans say THE Ohio State University!…yeah, I totally, like, DID!) downed “duh” Bosox in Beantown, to go to 52-38 (+14) on the year. AND – the anointed “Slowest” man in Baseball hits for the cycle?! (Bengie Molina)…yeah, its worth a mention; HERE. I’d like to see Hernandez or Hannigan do THAT!
Still, the story is this: They have Josh Hamilton, and “we” don’t!
We (as Reds fans) “get” Ed Vol back, tonight. So, 3 years later, who got the better of the deal? And, How UFreakin’ happy must Texas be that they didn’t agree to take Bruce instead of Mr Hamilton!? Reflect then, on how the Reds might be sitting NOW, with Hammy and his .350 average (with pop) in the OF, instead of “They-call-me” Bruce? Yeah, it could have gone that way! Edison has been outstanding too, and despite HIM missing significant time (more than Hamilton has in fact) he’s still a pitcher EVERY MLB club would covet! In his first year w/the Reds, he was lights out and he’s got terrific upside as well.
The Reds passed on (in lieu of moving Jay Bruce to Texas) Hammy, because of the risk factor. All he’s done was build quite a resume while leading the Rangers to the top of their division! Somewhat better, to say it conservatively, than the guy we kept instead! Uh, no offense to Bruce, of course; –Even though its not CLOSE!
Three years ago, few believed (me) that Hammy was going to tilt the deal in favor of the Rangers, and everyone quoted Marty Brenneman that pitching wins! Yeah-yeah-yee-yuh!
The Rangers finished better than the Reds every year since, and are playing better with a brighter outlook this year! J-Ham is the centerpiece of their club, and he’s hitting .350 after signing his 3.2 mil/yr deal (after playing for the minimum his first two years there)! What’s Bruce gonna cost the Reds before HE tops/approaches Ham’s numbers/value? Right, he wont. Bruce plays well is spurts, but he wont ever be better than Hamilton. Jay Bruce = Austin Kearns!
Bruce is far from “incapable”, but for all the crap I heard about his upside vs the DANGERS of keeping “Drug-Boy” Hamilton???…–well, its prudent to point this difference out now I think. Go Reds, but think about how it could have been too!
Cal goes low at St Andrews
ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — This year, it’s Mark Calcavecchia doing the old guys proud…..and if he wanted to, could be a FatGuy as well…..The offer is out there, Mr C! Good Luck, and say “Hi” to Tiger for me!…He’ll be the one over at Anna Lovato’s tent! (But then again, who wouldn’t be !?!?!?) WHAT?..You want a link?…forget that!….OK, HERE!…just an intro though, this post is about GOLF, remember!?!?!
The 1989 British Open champion posted the early low score of the day with a 5-under 67 Friday, his best round ever at the Old Course. He was still five strokes back with first-round leader Rory McIlroy not even at the course, but it’s pretty good for a guy making the shuffle to the senior tour after turning 50 on June 12.
“It’s confidence,” Calcavecchia (University of Florida, 1978-80) said. “You see a guy like Tom Watson last year almost winning at 60. It doesn’t really matter how old you are if you’re feeling good about what you’re doing. I think old guys can hang with the young guys.”
And nowhere, it seems, is age merely a number than at the British Open.
Two years ago, Greg Norman nearly won his third claret jug at 53, taking a two-shot lead into the final round at Royal Birkdale. Watson’s showing at Turnberry last year was even more amazing. A few months shy of his 60th birthday, he went to the 72nd hole with a one-stroke lead.
Both fell short of becoming the oldest major champion in golf history, a title that still belongs to Julius Boros, who was 48 when he captured the 1968 PGA. Now it’s up to Calcavecchia to see if he can finish the senior surge.
“It’s a good spot to be in,” Calcavecchia said. “I didn’t really think about where I was going to be in the tournament, there’s still six hours of tee times left. I’m just happy to have a tee time for tomorrow.”
While the monstrous lengths at U.S. Open courses and even Augusta National often take their toll on the senior set — heck, they’re tough on the youngsters, too — nowhere does experience matter more than at a links course, where fickle weather, deceptive greens and fairways filled with humps and bumps make every hole an adventure.Calcavecchia hasn’t played the other majors in two years. But he’s missed only two cuts at the British Open since 1999. The only real miscue — if you can call it that — in his bogey-free round Friday came on 17. After eagling the Road Hole on Thursday, he missed an 8-footer for birdie Friday.”I always enjoy the Open. Having not played well at St. Andrews in the past doesn’t mean anything to me,” said Calcavecchia, whose previous best round at St. Andrews was a 69 in 2000. “I know the course and I got a few good breaks out there, missed a couple of bunkers by a couple of yards, and it’s a difference of a couple of shots. Your ball rolls into one of those things, and who knows what you’re going to make.”You need a few good breaks out here, and so far I’ve gotten them.”It’s been a while since Calcavecchia has been in the mix at a major, and Norman and Watson set the bar pretty high. But Calcavecchia is going to enjoy this — and not simply because this is one of those rare tournaments where wife Brenda is on the bag. Or because he gets to enjoy a pint or two of that Scottish ale he enjoys so much.”When you’re 30, I don’t think you think about it. I thought 50-year-olds were pretty (darn) old when I was 30,” Calcavecchia said. “Or your parents are 50, you think, ‘How can anybody be that old?’ But now that I’m 50, you really don’t think about what you were thinking about when you were 30.”I haven’t grown up any. I’m still 30,” Calcavecchia said. “I may feel 50 or 60. But inside, I’m still 30.”
