Kryin’ Kelly?..where’s your loathing haze of Brian Kelly?
Where’s the OUTRAGE?!?!?!…Where are the violins?…Where’s the rage that a Head Coach of a team is “politicking” for his team to the College Football World? Short memories? If THIS isn’t the “full monty” in/of his plea, its certainly the first chapter. It may not (yet) have taken on the grand scope of some of the others before him, but its there to read! Its also clearly the begining of MORE to come!
Seems the World was all afire in 2006 when Urban Meyer was asked (in December, mind you) if he thought his team deserved to be in the BCS Championship Game, against tOSU….the fan reaction in much of the country, including THIS AREA, was that Mr Meyer was guilty of politicking, so to speak. Some fans even termed him Urban “Cryer” (Meyer), for his “sins”. By the time his team packed up and left Arizona, following his 41-14 win, the name was his forever. HE was right!…and those who gave him his nickname, were dead-ass wrong! Didn’t matter! Since then, other fans who probably don’t even follow the game all that much, picked up on the cool nickname, just out of spite/hate!
Fast forward to October 18th, 2009 and we now have another in the LONG and distinguished line of front men talking positive about their team; this time it strikes in Cincinnati, OHIO. Yes, Mr Brian Kryer Kelly has thrown his whistle into the ring. So, where is the public outcry here, or negative chatter??…oooooohhhh, right, hypocrites -almost forgot!! Sure, what else can it be?….Kelly is just talking about his team!, right?….and Meyer wasn’t?…..Well, that is,..Meyer, and the 45 other that have answered that question in the same manner, over the last 20+ years…??

I’m here to say, I AM A FAN of Mr Kelly (and Mardy Gilyard, for that matter), and I’m NOT calling for his head over this opinion (just as I didn’t with Urbs). Its valid, in my opinon. Perhaps in just the same manner Urbs was back in ’06. Not ALL of the Cocaches who “blindly promote” have had merit though;..Marshall, Tulane, ECU, TCU, K-State, to name just a few. I do have to say, in Meyers’ case, when HE was asked (and responded), it was AFTER he’d finished his season. Not thru 1/2 of it, as some of the others have done. I hope Texas ends up losing and the Gators can muster enUFf offense up to get past the rest of the teams on their schedule!…Thus opening up the VERY good possibility of a UF/UC BCS Title Game! Of course Machine will cry about poor ol’Boise State not getting the nod, but I’ll get over that pretty easy. (11 games vs teams ranked higher than 67?…and 3 ranked OVER 100?..yeah, not really too much to get moved about there….hell, Idado is 6-0 right now….you know where they’re ranked right now?…exactly!) Oh, and get ready for other fans who couldn’t SPELL Brian Kelly 3 weeks ago, to alla sudden have a great problem with him (politicking, runnning up the score, and my fav -”Lying to recruits”…how some nuts KNOW this, is odd, but they do it!). Its part of it, apparently…why?…pppfffttt, who knows? Hate seems to flow heavy towards those who win!
UC NEWS:
PIKE MIGHT PLAY vs LOUISVILLE
BIG Day for Chuckles and the Domer-fans!
Can the USCw secondary contain the Claussen-Pickle boy? Can the Pickle-boy throw against a team WITH an active secondary (one with a pulse)?…..Obviously THIS is where the game will be decided. Sure, Charlie’s porous defense will have to produce about a +4 T/O ratio, or at least score a few TD’s in order for this to be a game, but….the Irish DO have one thing working in their favor:…yeah, HER!

…………………………………look!
If Miss “Hawt-thighs” McTightPants can play “cover-corner”, too, the Irish will stand a chance. If not, then she’ll need to work the Trojan sideline like an over-aggressive “TRICK-or-TREATER”, this afternoon!….From her eye make-up to the tips of her black boots, she’s got the goods! BUT, will she have the endurance?
One thing is FOR SURE!…she won’t have ANY effect on “JIMMY“!…AT ALL!….yeah, its like a roving safety, he won’t even SEE HER out there!
Prediction:…..She’s a big hit, but the Irish fall for the 8th straight time to USCw….and like most games ND plays against ranked teams (under Chunky), this one will be ugly! Jimmy-Jimmy throws a few picks, but throws a late TD too, in the 27-13 loss.
The RUNNING of the BULLS!

Cats roll USF in PRIME TIME!..LOOK ready to take it up a notch! Brian Kelly, YOU DA MAN!!! 34-17

(Some) NFL players and owners, hypocrites?
HHhmmm, seems that tired over-used saying that rings through the Sports World alla time; “Everyone deserves a second chance” only applies to certain situations.
Apparently it applies to those players who killed people (even double homicide stabbings), have beaten women, made it rain and crippled people, drown underperforming dogs, and hUFf enUFf drugs to sink a ship. Yeah, do any of that (and more I missed) and you can play w/o a problem. Try and buy into a franchise though, and BAM!….can’t use that saying anymore.

Rush Limbaugh, who I could personally give two dead flies for either way, was involved in a partnership proposing to buy the St Louis Rams….yeah, I know,…WHO would want them? Still, why can’t The Rush use the old “HEY!,..give me a second chance”!!….after all, there are a large number of PLAYERS in the NFL that have done REAL physical harm, DEATH EVEN, to a good number of people, but they “get another chance”….Most recently and as equally as FAMOUSLY, was Mikey Vick. Donte Stallworth KILLED a guy! Look, I don’t even CARE who ends up with the franchise, its just seems hypocritical to me to hear these arguments….and then hear that phrase used over and over to support the players for re-instatement.
Rush Limbaugh said some things, and some things have been attached to him that haven’t ever been confirmed, it appears. Oh, and; He’s “paid” his dues!(that’s another biggie!),..He was removed from ESPN for THIS, again, not an absolute cut-n-dry case, it seems. But he lost his job, and was crushed in the media! One response in that link, says there is ”No room in sports broadcasting for racism”. I accept, believe and support that notion full bore!…However, I cannot believe murders ARE something that same person (who made that quote, you can read it there for yourself) would endorse….Yet there are several in the NFL who have BEYOND A DOUBT, killed people. And Ray-Ray who just paid the families of the guys HE killed, to shut up and go away. Certainly the substance in the case against Ray-Ray was at least EQUAL to that evidence against the Rush-guy. Kepp Rush out!..fine, but take the others out too!
Again, it bears another mention, that I do not view Limbaugh in a good personal light here, and could really care less about his pursuit on most levels; BUT if you’re allowed to keep him out, why not the others who have done much worse? Where’s his 2nd chance?….Rape, Murder, Drugs, Sexism, multiple arrests….all those are “second chance worthy”, but not Rush?…Fake reverand Al Sharpton can get into politics, but Limbag is out as an NFL owner?….Al Sharpton is perhaps THE biggest racist on this planet!(and a darn sizable hypocrite too).
Mid America Ballyard, simply the best!
The Super Draft has come and gone, and it was once again a great event. A lot of money was raised by the softball community for 2 good charities. Well, by a lot, I mean “a lot” considering this was/is a one day event where we all played softball, as teams, without sponsorship.
![]()
MAB, and their front-man Brian Wegman did a great job. The rains stopped at about 3am and the ground crew had those fields ready to play by 11am! We had 12 teams and to a man (and woman) a great time was enjoyed by all. Thanks goes out to all the organizers, field staff and players that made it a great time. Wegman, once again, opened up the Easton goody bag & poured out a ton of gear. This guy gets credit, but in reality, not enUFf. He has gone above and beyond the call for 4 years, making this event what it is each year; -THE best “fun” softball tourney of the year. (A. Larkins at www.cincysoftball.com does a great deal too, as founder! -Check out the cincysoftball site for great pics of the event, including a spoof on the ESTRADA sun glasses idea!)
There are two more BIG Tourney’s left in the month of Oktober (2009). There’s an “Alumni tourney” on the 24th (GREAT IDEA!!) and a “Toy-for-Tots” Tournament on Halloween Day! (that’s the 31st ya yutz!)…Go out and have 2 more good days at the Park. The Toys for Tots is in its 2nd year, the Alumni Tourney is in its first.
The Alumni Tourney champ gets to donate a prize to the school they are representing (dependant on the numbers involved). The expectation is that up to 25 schools (or, teams) will be represented on the 24th (of Oktober). Go out and support your school, then support the Toys-for-Tots” by stopping out and bringing a toy (original packaging please!) as well!
The Cincinnati area softball community did a LOT last year when a man and his family lost EVERYTHING two days before xmas, after a fire destroyed their home. It was a softball player, who had never met anyone in that family, that delivered toys to ALL of them on Christmas Eve day. To the extent that the delivery of those gifts pushed back his own plans for the holidays! He requested to remain anonymous, even going as far as to create an alias. This one man got the ball rolling, but the out-pour from many of the area players was over-whelming. A lot of times it is this same community that is the butt of jokes, but nothing could be further from the truth. Come out and help these last two events reach more people in our community. The area Schools and Toys for Tots; – two very good causes. A big thanks for these two ideas goes out to Brian Wegman, and CincySoftball founder A Larkins. A little by a lot, makes a big difference!
LET HIM PLAY!….time for NCAA to do the right thing here
Dez Bryant, wr extraordinaire for the OSU Cowboys has glorifiedly (its a word, just trust me) been declared ineligible by the OSU athletic dept. brass. The NCAA did not declare him suspended or rule him out for the year, yet, but they need to move in and clear him to play now. Not because he’s a star player. Actually, because he’s a star or not shouldn’t enter the picture, though you know it does and will. As a player, and a good one, he’ll be fine whether he plays again this year or not. He’s a BETTER College wr than Mr NFL “Hold-Out” dude M-Crab” was, and probably will be a better Pro. Bryant is a lock first rounder in the April draft without ever playing another down, BUT!….he should play, if that is his intention.

In today’s NCAA, those players who are lock picks (with or without the 2-3 mil insurance policies) and NOT on teams heading for a National Title birth, might be listening to writer’s, family members, and scum bag agents (only because they ARE talking to them right now) about just hanging it up and not risking injury (anyone recall what Andre Smith did before the Sugar Bowl last year?). In Dez Bryant’s case, they (OSU) started off the season with great promise only to get punched in the face by the reality train; aka- a couple losses. Today they are out looking in; at least as far as the National Title picture is concerned, and Mr Bryant is already pondering life as a multi-millionaire…..Suddenly it seems like the CarQuest Bowl might not be all that important anymore (not that “they” or “he” is going to that Bowl game, but you get the idea). There are only a few freak injuries, these days, that will zap an NFL career away from a kid, but that “fear” could be enUFf in some cases. Tim Tebow’s concussion will be a big story heading into the Draft next April, and he’s not even projected as a 1st rounder…..yeah, yeah, yeah, and most don’t see him going in the first day (but he will). Still, if, or “when”, Okly State loses its next game, how much more will Bryant want to play. As a kid, he himself may want to play, but those looking to cash him into NFL money probably will not….or at least they’ll cringe anytime he gets hit/tackled. This mentality will be bad for the College game, as more athletes either fake out an injury, over-extend the real one they just got (like it was reported Mr Ginn and his father did in the National title game, in 2007) or commit a low-level “School infraction” and be “forced” to miss the last few games?? Its not a rampant problem NOW, but there could be a trend starting….then again, there can only ever be a hand-ful or so facing this decision every year.
All that conjecture aside, The NCAA needs to step up and release this kid to play. He was adequately disciplined by having sat out a random game, and he has followed that up with a letter to the NCAA where he apologized. He didn’t punch a dude in the face after a horrific loss, he didn’t steal, nor did he due harm to ANYone here. His visit was even approved back when it happened. The “kid” just got nervous, and resorted to an immature act of lying. Fine, sit him out one game, even two if you wanna be a hard ass, but let him finish the year – and be happy he still wants to!
We (must) REALLY need more water!
Cuz’ we just BOMBED THE MOON to find out if it has any!….I’ll bet unfrozen moon-ice would be the best(est) glass of water EVER!!!! MMmmmm-mmmmm! The “Sid-the-science-Kid” Geeks can’t get enUFf of this mighty event, so you know its a big deal!…AND, maybe a big problem too!

Water, they just aren’t making it ANY more!(well, yes they CAN, and more HERE; but you get my meaning….) It seems with 6.5 Billion water dependant people on this planet now (and no end in sight to the population boom), maybe we could use a little more? “Yo Moon, can ya spare a few Trillion gallons?”…fresh unpoluted water at that!
Wars, in the past, have been fought over land, and gold, and tea/spices, beaver pelts, pride, more land, and of course oil(resources). In Africa they are fighting over plutonium, (AND oil). Many predict water will be the root of the next great globally involved conflict. Which is why the brains from “PS 198″ in Brooklyn, NY all the way to Polar South Nasa Moon-drop site #1, are working on the problem. We are adding 75 million (net) water junkies to the planet every year! Most of these folkes don’t live in Cincinnati, where it rains every other freakin’ day (over 44″ annually, actually). A good many of these folks come to us via the driest and nastiest earth parched places on this World! Not Antarctica or Atacoma, but Africa and points (middle) East. Thirsty people get pretty pizzed off, pretty damn fast. Food and Water are going to be a BIG problem, as they are already have begun to be….Achmed and the boys are easily motivated…..For the simple promise of fame and 72 Vestal Virginians (???) a terrorist can get an open market blowed-up, these days! For clean water and a falafel, who knows!?!?!
Back during the first Gulf War, SuhDAMN Hussain dumped and burned oil in an attempt to disrupt (or destroy) the desalination facilities of Kuwait. He undesrtood then the importance of water in the region. This isn’t imposing any great intelligence on the now hanged and dead dictator, just pointing out that he was killing two birds with one stone. One of those birds being our good buddy ‘water”!
So, SO what if there is water on the moon….for all the expense it takes to find out, will there really ever be a usable end use here? We cannot expect to ship back enUFf water to make this project pay off, right? So why go through the process? For a Club Med Moon Unit franchise? Seems silly, but then so does paying Chud Johnson 14 million a year to act like an asshole!…SEE!, and you didn’t think I could bridge Moon bombings to “The Chud”!
Tony Fein dies, mystery abounds
Story here:
Tony Fein dies, and mystery surrounds his death, huh?…..QUICK!…Where was Ray-Ray Lewis?!?!?!…
Did Mr Fein borrow money, a hammer, picture hooks, or “cutlery” from Ray-Ray while in the Ravens Camp over the summer, and forget to pay it back?….Would have been a BAAAAADDDD move if he had! Ray-Ray is a slashing man of action, and then subversive get-a-way! Did neighbors report seeing any stretch Hummer Limo’s speeding away from the home, that early morning? Did press reports leave out any witness’ statements? — perhaps Tony was wearing a Hoody and some sweatpants, and passing around a big ass cell phone among a group, and Ray-Ray thought it was a “wire” so he ”corrected” Mr Fein???…Nahh, that only works when you’re pursuing a racist angle with an organization that can pay!, and Government orgs are the best at paying!!…..They are an easy target rich environment, baby!!!

Anyway, Mr Fein was an Army Vet, so its just not right to paint him up in a bad light (so I’m not), particularly JUST to further my own personal “anti-Ray-Ray” campaign!….Even if he DID kill 2 guys in a bar, threaten his people to be quiet, pay off the families of the dead, then “fake-find-God” to totally bullsh.t the NFL and all its fans; and somehow become the face of the Ravens franchise and collect humanitarian awards in the Baltimore community…..Only in America can a dude do ALL that, and then turn it around so nicely. HE BRUTALLY KILLS 2 GUYS in a bar, and a few years later the public has forgotten; largely because the Ravens won a Super Bowl….and, those two dead guys didn’t!
Too bad for OJ, he “knife” killed people too!(allegedly), its just that other people really cared about them, and didn’t just take the shut-the-hell-up money and go bye-bye. NEXT TIME OJ!…next time!…Yeah, kill anonymous low-life’s in a trendy bar,….heck, go HOG WILD on them even,…then feel free to run the hail out of there! Who cares that people saw you and can positively ID you (and the records of your rented Limo prove you were there!). You tell your posse to shut the hell up or you’ll gut THEM too, & BINGO!….scott-free, baby!
For added “flair” (gay “flair”, that is) do some heavy queer dancing on the sidelines (say it helps the boys play better…as if dudes watching another dude gay “dance” should have ANY bearing on their level of play -AT ALL!…yeah, it scares me too, but it works in B’more apparently!), THEN if your team wins the Super Bowl?, BOOM!…MAN-of-the-YEAR as well!
The general Football loving public has GREAT forgiveness if you and your team play well!…..idiot-like even!
When Ray-Ray heard the news of Mr Fein’s death , he ran out to find a news-reporter and in a wholesome “I-sure-didn’t-ever-kill-no-one” kinda sincere voice he said:
…”A humble young man,” Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis said. “Our hearts definitely go out to his family because it’s such a tragedy for a man to be that young and go through the things he’s been through.”…
This is “Ray-Ray’nese” for; “He’s lucky it wasn’t ME that ran into him at that trendy Baltimore area bar that night (instead of it being Police),…I’d have worked him like an oyster! -Then run out to my waiting get-away limo, speed off, queer dance, and threatened to kill everyone I was with if they talk. He’d have had NO shot at a law suit against me!…..Poor bastard!”;…or something real close to that, I’m guessing.
Ray-Ray is the guy Chad Johnson credits for his attitude adjustment!…..Quality begets quality! They make a killer couple, don’t they!???
CRABTREE SIGNED, CRABTREE SIGNED!,..yippie SH*T!
By now its widely known that dear sweet ol’ over-rated Michael Crabtree has signed a contract with the San Fran 49ers! Glory-Glory, crap-n-eggs for everyone in the Bay Area! Call now for the Super Bowl tickets guys! No one College player got more mileage out of a good play turned immortal (Texas vs Texas Tech), than Crabs has. Had the two (young) and inexperienced Texas defenders stayed with Crabtree on that fateful pass-play, they’d have tackled his ash IN play. The play was designed to go to the sidelines and set up a FG, that would have won the game. Crabtree stopped, spun back in play and trotted into the end zone with 1 second on the clock. The Texas defenders, sure he was going out of bounds to stop the clock, went high and gave up;…..watch it HERE. It IS an epic play, and will live forever (nearly) like the Flutie to Phelan pass play back in ’84 (HERE). Fluties’ might be MORE epic, because he didn’t have the luxury of a FG option had Phelan run the play out of bounds,…still, its an awesome College Football moment, just one that could have turned tragically wrong had Crab(s)tree been tackled (after not going out of bounds) or even covered by the one upper-classman in the Texas secondary that night. (sorry, his name escapes me right now).

After months of holding out, wide receiver Michael Crabtree has agreed to a contract with the San Francisco 49ers, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Crabtree will get a six-year deal that he can void to five years if he meets undefined performance clauses, a league source told ESPN’s Michael Smith.
The 22-year-old Crabtree is expected to report to the team’s training facility Wednesday.
Crabtree and agent Eugene Parker met into the early-morning hours Wednesday with 49ers owner Jed York, general manager Scot McCloughan and Paraag Marathe, vice president of football operations. The two sides had gone almost three weeks without talking.
San Francisco selected Crabtree with the 10th pick in this year’s draft and could use the wideout’s game-breaking ability in the passing game. That said, he has a lot of catching up to do to learn the offense after missing all of training camp.
He also sat out the 49ers’ offseason minicamps and organized team activities while recovering from a foot injury, but was a regular presence for rehabilitation and strengthening workouts at the team’s training facility.
Coach Mike Singletary, whose 49ers lead the NFC West and at 3-1 are off to their best start since 2002, said Monday he would welcome Crabtree whenever he joins the team.
Crabtree caught 97 passes for 1,165 yards and 19 touchdowns last year during his sophomore season at Texas Tech. He finished his college career with 231 receptions for 3,127 yards and 41 TDs.
Crabs inner-circle includes the likes of Deion Sanders, agent Eugene Parker, and a successful junk-bond trader. This guy surrounded himself with money, to help project an image to the 49ers *and the public) that his ass was OK with sitting out a year. In typical NFL fashion, it worked like a porch light drawing in moths! The NFL is so stupid, and not just in this case. Why does a kid coming out of College and pumped full of confidence and braggin’ about how good he is, need guaranteed money? Is he (and they) worried he’ll fail?…is it about market pricing?….is it because its a Union shop and values are F*cked in Union houses(Sports)? WHAT, WHAT, WHAT the HAIL is it?
Hey, there’s a Draft EVERY year!…and some one has to be #1, and on down thru the last pick in round seven. Michael Crabtree was an outstanding WR in College, for Texas tech. That said; The Draft has been rife with busts throughout its history, including (of course) FIRST ROUND BUSTS! . Still, every year the pompASS bastards flip out of the draft acting like they want to play, but all they want is guaranteed money so they have a right to fail for at least two years! If Crabs and the rest are so confident in their “obvious” talents, why aren’t they tied up in incentives! Who knows if dude can even absorb the playbook; in time to help the team? So, he’ll get paid for nothing this year, struggle next, and show potential in year three! (or so that’s the plan) These guys with all the brash ass-hole talk never have to back it up and play for their money. My problem with it?…Its never the player who pays, or the agent! Its always the team that sUFfers, and of course the fan. Being in Bengal Country, that’s certainly understood around these parts! Too many busts to see 28-43 million dollars get tied up in a first round pick who may or may not ever be worth a damn.
Crabtree isn’t the only one to take advantage of the Union and NFL owners, he’s just the most recent. He’s also FAR from a sure thing NFL wr! He played in a conference that saw a team average 70 points a game for the SEASON!….That team, or course went on to play in the National Title game,….where they scored 14 points! They also lost the game. Crabtree played in a conference that “might” have been soft on defense, and all in with the offense. That can skew a number of two. I’m not saying he’ll be a cantankerous bust, but my bet is that he never fulfills the promise made (on his end) for the deal he just signed. He’ll never be a Jerry Rice, and he’ll never be more than an average wr with maybe a flash game or two a year. Of course, if he goes about his business like Chad Johnson has in Cincinnati, then those few “good” games every year will be enUFf to keep the masses in the Bay Area ALL GIDDY and HAPPY!
UC Primed to take control of the Big(L)East
How much does WVU miss Richy Rod?…..A TON!…..Bill Stewart is certainly a respectable guy, and an awesome grandpa too, I’ll bet. He is NO Richy Rod though, and the Mountaineers are going to fall back into the unranked abyss for a spell. At the very least-for the short term! Everyone was all wrapped up in the fuzzy-warm story of how Grandpa Bill took over the team amidst the turmoil of Richy jumping ship, and destroyed Stoops’ Sooners in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl game. The last great game they’ve played!

That memory might be all these mountaineers have to grip to, as they watch the changing of the Guard in the Big(L)East. Cincinnati has the direction and the Coach, to become the staple Big(L)East team for the next decade! That is, of course, unless BEE-rye Kelly decides his paychecks are too small and jumps off and into Notre Dame…and obviously that’s a valid concern. Still, with RECORD numbers of student filling the ranks, and a sizable bank account (figuratively speaking) left over from the Nancy Zimpher years, UC could secure Kelly with a powerful contract that just might keep him in town. Now, it “might” come at the expense of the Basketball program!….As were the days of yore, when Huggy-Chicken ran the roost and Football was intentionally suppressed! The smart people seem to think Cronin is just WAITING to fill the void after Pitino retires from Louisville. Apparently lowering the basketball budget is also something Mick sees (and now FEELS) as part of the pending UC future.
Back to WestVirginny!…..They were handed an 11-point loss to Offensively challenged Auburn, on “The Plains”! and now, they’re bragging about beating Colorado (HEY!,..Colorado, how do you miss 3 FG;s in one game?)! Yeah, the same team that Toledo hung 54 on (Colorado), the Mountaineers are boasting about beating by eleven! THAT’S how much they miss Richie Rod, even if they’ll never (pride and hatred) say it!
Oct. 1
at West Virginia 35 … Colorado 24
Noel Devine ripped off a 77-yard touchdown run and Jarrett Brown connected with Jock Sanders for a six-yard score and Brad Starks for a 48-yard touchdown as West Virginia won a sloppy game. Colorado stayed alive on a 36-yard Rodney Stewart touchdown run and got a 29-yard touchdown catch from Scotty McKnight, but three interceptions, three missed field goals from Aric Goodman, and two short touchdown runs from West Virginia’s Ryan Clarke were too much to overcome. The Mountaineers turned it over four times, all on fumbles.
Player of the Game: West Virginia RB Noel Devine ran 22 times for 220 yards and a touchdown
Colorado: Passing: Cody Hawkins, 27-52, 292 yds, 2 TD, 3 INT
Rushing: Rodney Stewart, 21-105, 1 TD, Receiving: Scotty McKnight, 9-98, 1 TD
West Virginia: Passing: Jarrett Brown, 12-19, 148 yds, 2 TD
Rushing: Noel Devine, 22-220, 1 TD, Receiving: Brad Starks, 3-68, 1 TD
What It All Means: West Virginia gave Colorado several chances to take over the game, but the Buffs didn’t take advantage. The defense couldn’t slow down Noel Devine and the Mountaineer running game, but the bigger problem was CU’s own ineffectiveness on offense. Cody Hawkins threw 52 times, but the passing game only gained 292 yards with three rough interceptions. To have any chance at Texas next week, the offense has to be perfect while the defense can’t give up the big plays it allowed in Morgantown.
Richie Rod, on the other hand, has seemingly weathered the early storm and has his team “on-the-grow” in Ann Arbor (who Buckeye fans think is a whore,…???). Some much he might even get that “comped” round of Golf in this year, at the University course he’s wanted so badly.(It’s a private course you know: http://www.worldgolf.com/courses/usa/michigan/annarbor/university-of-michigan-golf-course-private.html). You do have to look past that close game against Indiana to FULLY appreciated the Phoenix Richie is experiencing!
What does this all mean?….It means UC is in the driver’s seat BABY!, the one left empty by WVU, Louisville, and USF primarily. Rutgers is strongly considered the next best team (now) in the conference, and of course UC destroyed them IN New Jersey(What exit?) a few weeks ago! ….UConn, Pitt and Syracuse are out looking in, and this was supposed to be a DOWN year for Kelly’s Hero’s; following an Orange Bowl season that saw all but one defender leave! Mardy Gilyard and Private Pike have made it look easy, but they’ve had a lot of help too! This team could be scary good if they’re able to maintain this focus and keep this Coach. So much in fact, that the Basketballer fans might just get over the loss of the POWERFUL CUSA teams from years past! They were paper-tigers anyway!…under .500 in the Tourney, only one Final 4?….The Football team will beat that with another BCS Bowl appearance THIS year!
