What I find funny is this, when a union worker gets laid off, what happens then? You file unemployment, and get the weekley money that you deserve, and then you get put on a call back list. Well, here is the sad truth, if you are union worker or merit shop worker, you are entitled to the same unemployment benefit. You pay dues to something that only entitles you to be put on a waiting list to go back to work. Union training is good, I will give you that, but by in large, unions are out dated.
