What Grinds my Gears? -Parking on the street!

What the hell is the story here anyway? Parking on the streets!….How is it EVERYONE needs to use the street to park. Did EVERYONE just buy more cars than their garage and driveway will hold? Is the Obama’s plan for crushing clunkers working THAT well? As I drive down my street, I live on the corner of Tetris and Frogger by the way, I see all these OPEN driveways…..so, what’s with parking on the street? 1/2 the cars either have a mirror missing, broken or at least turned in…so, why the hail do they do this? One dude has a dually, and the wheel cover facing the street looks like someone washed it with a tack hammer.
In the neighborhood I lived in before moving up here, we didn’t have perm-street parking as an option. GREAT RULE, btw! If you had people coming over you could park in the street or, obviously, if you had a project going on or something. But that was it!- AND, no freaking work vans ever in the street ‘less they were there working! You have a work van, that f.cker should be in the damn drive-way, not on the street backing up traffic!! This isn’t New York or even the Upper East side!….the homes here have driveways, and in most cases, double-wide driveways that sit empty! Cars lining the streets look like shit, slow my commute and get kids killed when they walk out from behind them. End the practice of cars LIVING in the street, fine anyone that uses the street to permanately store their vehicle!!
…and THAT, really grinds my gears!
