A CRUSHING defeat!….in OT

I watched the last 3 minutes, and particularly after the Boston U Coach called his last time out, stunned and completely under some “you-can’t-turn-away-from-this-even-if-wanted-to” trance!….and I could swear that last minute.30 or so (since that last face-off in the BU end, when they had to re-enter their Goalie) took, like, 4 freakin’ days!…..

Something kept telling me that Miami was NOT going to hold their 3-1 lead….I watched and remember thinking, this is a long ass 4 days!…..with 59.8 seconds, Miami failed to clear the puck properly,..it was stolen, and returned to the front of the net for a mini-cross and a score. The fate of those under-dog Hawks seemed ripe. Boston U was the better team, apparently (I hadn’t followed College Hockey that closely, but they kept SAYING it, so..) and with the extra skater, Miami couldn’t even clear it once to the line, in order to flip one home…they didn’t even get close. I’m a casual hockey fan, but that tying goal (44 seconds later) by BU was impressive….They had to know time was fading (and NOT fast enUFf either!), but the discipline to make that extra tap pass right, even as the dude was in front of the goal, was super!…it was a great goal….a great big kick in the crotch goal!

I genuinely felt bad for these Miami guys,…National Title bath, just a minute away,…then,….all gone. I admit, I couldn’t watch the start of the OT period. I went to refresh a beverage, and when I came back,….well, it was quick. A slap from the left side, and it skims off the left leg of the Miami Goalie;..BOOM,- light the lamp!, game over!. I kinda felt like I’d just watch the Gator lose, in a way…..although had that BEEN a Gator team, I’d be at HHGregg this bright chilly morning.

I wanted to give out a CONGRATES to the Miami Hockey team I only got to know last night!,…and I think I’ll be a fan here going forward. Hopefully they get past this crushing defeat, and turn it into a rally point for next year.
