The Nether-regions, yes, The Dutch!!…Home of the dope-n-smoke cafes and Chicken Waffles!…THEY beat current Red Edison Volquez AND the World Baseball Classic favorites, The Dominican Republic, 2-1 in eleven innings!
The “DR” was suppose to dominate the field in this 2nd
edition of “WORLD Baseball!…..they didn’t! As a result, they are out and the Amsterdammers (it is TO a word!) are in the second round!
If you haven’t tuned into this Tourney, you’re missing out!…This is a great forum for INTERNATIONAL Baseball, and its good baseball too! The Korean team looks impressive, and might be the team to beat now….???
Todays Games:
Venezuela vs USA 5:30pm (both teams have already earned in to 2nd round)
Netherlands vs Puerto Rico 5:30pm (both advanced, position play only)
Mexico vs Australia (elimination game) Cuba has already advanced, winner joins them.
Korea and Japan have already advanced. Korea edged Japan 1-0 to “win” their pool.
